Immigrant Report Fundraiser

This online publication explores the art, stories and ideas from all walks of the American immigrant community. I scored their fundraising video pro bono to help them raise money for a year of excellent journalism.

An inspirational appeal from online publication Immigrant Report

I wrote the music to picture for this fundraising appeal. I blended several digital instruments together to achieve sounds that matched the light and motion of the video. Since it’s meant to affect people’s hearts and open their wallets, I knew the palette had to be warm, inviting, positive, and engaging. I balanced that warmth with a sense of groundedness and stability, because the topic of immigrant perspectives has a quality of seriousness. At a time when the immigrant community in America is facing many challenges, the work of the journalists and editors at Immigrant Report is crucial. I felt the need to donate my efforts to help this publication reach broader readership and continue to thrive and grow.

So far we have been successful: publishing work from over 80 members of the immigrant community online and reaching an audience of 10,000! In centering immigrant voices, we ask our contributors to explore whatever they are most passionate about. We are not only interested in what it means to be an immigrant, but also in the broad range of experiences, ideas and expressions from across this diverse community.
